There’s something about going to a new place; the people, the atmosphere, the wardrobe, even the food…everything is so different, even if it’s similar. I’ve been all over Texas, here and there in California, Washington D.C, Virginia, and various other places while passing through on road-trips. Each and every time I go to a new place, I’m ceased with a magical feeling of unfamiliarity, it’s like stepping into a whole new world. Seeing as I’m a girl of change and adventure, it’s easy for me to get bored, so I’m grateful for travel to keep me refreshed and amazed. Stepping outside of my comfort zone in a new place and experiencing a variety of things that I wouldn’t be able to otherwise is a must. The excitement of being able to experience such a wide variety of things is exhilarating, and it’s a little comforting to know that I still have my cozy, familiar little home to go back to in case I become overwhelmed.
Finishing school, I haven’t had much chance to go out anywhere or go visit anyone. But all of this is about to change. So first little taste? Chicago. My beloved cousin attends a college down in this bussing booming city, so I figured a good first step before the final months of school would be to come and pay her a visit for spring! We’ve had an entire agenda planned just in case we ran out of things to do or forgot the ones we planned, but boy oh boy– that just hasn’t been the case. I think I’ve been everywhere and back enough times now to navigate this city on my own as if I reside here. The food, the fashion, the method of transportation…everything is amazing and different even though there are places back at home that are similar. However, just like no two people are the same, no two places are either. Ferris wheels, long-boarding, thrifting, food over-loading, there have been countless things to do and to see here. Not to mention the musicians and dancers in the ventras; this entire city is so alive constantly, rubbing off on me as a result. Check out some of the magic:
